Saint Hildegard of Bingen (1098–1179) was a Benedictine abbess, visionary, composer and writer. She was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 2012. Here she holds her book Scivias, “Know the ways”, and a scroll of her music, with the crozier of an abbess at her side.
